DR. GEETA KHURANA-SUNDARAM BDS (Hons), PhD
Geeta Khurana-Sundaram qualified at Guys dental hospital 2000, is a passionate, skilled and enthusiastic clinician. Dr Khurana-Sundaram qualified with distinction from Guys dental hospital nearly 11 yrs ago and has since worked within the dental teaching hospital, community dental service treating children and nervous patients and has a strong research background completing her PhD at Guys dental hospital. More recently she has completed a year long course in cosmetic and aesthetic restorative dentistry. She is a gentle, caring and approachable member of the team and deeply committed to improving the dental health of all her patients and as such she sees both NHS and Private Patients here at Bushey Dental.
I feel very blessed to be able to say, “I love my job”. When it comes to dentistry you will find me a passionate, dedicated, skilled and enthusiastic clinician but more importantly you will find me gentle, caring and approachable, as I truly believe this is the most important thing in healthcare. I qualified from Guys dental hospital with distinction nearly 11 yrs ago and had the good fortune to start my working career as a dental house officer working at Guys Hospital and within the Community Dental Service with children and very nervous patients. It was the most valuable experience I could have asked for and the emotional reward from being the person that changed how nervous young children and phobic adults perceived dentistry was immeasurable. My ethos has continued to be that I treat every patient the way I would want myself or my family members to be treated and I feel very privileged by the rapport that continues to develop with my patients and by being able to witness the improvement in dental health and in confidence of a growing base of patients that continue to return to me.
My passion for dentistry and the diversity it offers and has led to me containing to train and develop and to keep abreast of the latest techniques. After my dental residency I entered general practice and continued to develop and hone my dental skills. During this time I also continued at Guys undertaking clinical research and completed a PhD in protection against tooth erosion in 2006 and have published several articles in peer reviewed journals. I have recently completed a year long course in cosmetic dentistry and aesthetic restorative dentistry.
Outside of work I enjoy socialising with friends and activities like badminton and snowboarding ( although I don't claim to be very good! ), and like nothing more than being able to enjoy dancing whether that is on a night out, at a family function or at a class.I equally enjoy watching a theatre show, particularly musicals, and reading a good book.
